FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

IHHT Training (Interval Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy)

Who is IHHT training suitable for?

IHHT therapy is suitable for a broad target group – from health-conscious individuals who want to increase their performance and vitality to people with respiratory illnesses or chronic fatigue. The Swiss Lung Foundation also advocates the use of oxygen therapies such as IHHT. Before each treatment, the device is individually adjusted to your needs.

How does IHHT training work?

During IHHT, you alternately breathe oxygen-depleted (hypoxic) and oxygen-rich (hyperoxic) air. This targeted stimulus simulates altitude training – but under controlled conditions. At the cellular level, the function of the mitochondria (the cell's powerhouses) is improved: weakened mitochondria are broken down and replaced by more efficient ones. The result? More energy, faster recovery, and an increased sense of well-being.

How much does an IHHT session cost?

With us, you pay CHF 880 for 8 units. We offer individual discounts for combination and follow-up packages. Our goal is to make IHHT affordable and accessible to everyone – through fair prices and flexible offers.

Is IHHT therapy safe?

Yes, IHHT is a safe and non-invasive procedure. Our devices have integrated safety features, such as automatic shut-off in case of low oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels. Before starting, we conduct a brief initial assessment to determine your individual and safe settings.

Are there any side effects?

IHHT cell training, like any exercise, places a slight strain on the body. Some people experience mild fatigue after the first session. However, side effects are generally rare and very mild. We most commonly observe headaches, especially if someone is experiencing low blood sugar.

Can't I just go to the mountains?

A stay in the mountains is beneficial – no question. But the targeted alternation between hypoxia and hyperoxia in IHHT is significantly more effective and precise than a natural altitude stimulus. The treatment is designed for maximum effect with minimal time investment.

When will I feel the first effects?

Many people report improved sleep and noticeably better fitness after just the first session. However, we expect to see initial effects after 5 to 6 sessions. Often, noticeable improvements in energy, concentration, and overall health are observed.

WONDER EMS Training

What is WONDER EMS Training?

WONDER EMS Training is a non-invasive muscle stimulation system for large muscle groups such as the abdomen, buttocks, arms, thighs, and pelvic floor. It utilizes supramaximal contractions for effective muscle strengthening.

How does WONDER EMS training work?

The system combines electromagnetic energy with electrical neurostimulation to penetrate deep into the muscles and trigger intense contractions that are difficult to achieve with normal training.

EMS Kegel Training (pelvic floor training)

What is EMS Kegel training?

EMS Kegel training is a non-invasive pelvic floor training method using high-intensity focused electromagnetic stimulation (HIFEM). The treatment is performed fully clothed while seated.

How does EMS Kegel training work?

In 28 minutes, thousands of supramaximal contractions are generated, reaching deep-lying muscles that are difficult to train manually. This strengthens the pelvic floor effectively and sustainably.

Who is EMS Kegel training suitable for?

Ideal for women after pregnancy, men after prostate surgery and all people with stress incontinence or a weak pelvic floor.

Does it help with incontinence?

Yes, strengthening the pelvic floor muscles can significantly reduce incontinence symptoms.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is generally painless. The intensity is individually adjusted to ensure a comfortable training experience.

How many sessions are recommended?

Typically, 6–12 sessions are recommended to achieve optimal results.

Are there any side effects or contraindications?

Muscle fatigue after treatment is normal. Not suitable for pregnant women or people with pacemakers or metal implants.

Where is EMS Kegel training offered?

At Respiro Care in Zurich Altstetten.
